Emilio Della Torre, CEO of Simec Group, has been appointed vice president of Acimga, the Italian association representing manufacturers of printing, converting and packaging machines. In line with the articles of the statute, Della Torre was selected by President Aldo Peretti (Uteco Group) among the newly elected board members in the last General Assembly, held last June 30th, which saw the election, in addition to Emilio Della Torre, of Saverio Lombardini (Ims Technologies), Andrea Dallavalle (Koenig & Bauer) and Giorgio Petratto (Petratto).

Della Torre will join the other 3 vice presidents of the association: Daniele Barbui (ACE Electrostatic), Matteo Cardinotti (Bobst Florence) and Giulia Rossini (Rossini). The elective component of the association’s General Council is thus complete, and soon it will be integrated with the representatives from the product groups: non-woven, tissue and corrugated cardboard (for the rotogravure group, Gianmatteo Maggioni from ICR already has a seat in the Board).

"A very critical phase for the country is awaiting, and we need the strongest energy to relaunch the industry," explains Aldo Peretti, President of Acimga, member of the General Board of Confindustria and vice president of its Fairs Committee. With Emilio Della Torre we establish an even more cohesive team, ready to face the challenges in front of us. With the Board and the support of all our members we will continue to bring together the entire supply chain through initiatives such as Print4All Conference (1200 participants in the last edition), Roto4All (scheduled for the next 23 October in Florence), the Print4All fair (with its new dates, 3-6 May 2022) and above all we will take our unique 'Made by Italy' to the rest of the world, with a series of international roadshows (Algeria, Turkey, Egypt and UK), as a way to re-boost exports after lock down. We will also continue to promote all Italian printing and converting technologies (flexo, rotogravure, non-woven, tissue and corrugated cardboard) both in Italy and abroad; and we will keep on strengthening strategic collaborations, internationally, with Global Print and Intergraf, and in Italy, with Federmacchine, Federazione Carta e Grafica and Argi - National Association of Suppliers of the Graphics Industry, representing digital technologies".
