Digital print increases market share to 21.1% displacing analogue print market

The global print market is shrinking in volume but growing in value over the period 2014–24. The average value of print increase will slightly over the ten-year period, as a result of changes in the product mix and the print processes employed. Smithers Pira’s latest market report, The Future of Digital vs Offset Printing to 2024 shows the global output measured in billions of A4 prints was 49,665 in 2019, to remain static through to 2024. In value terms, print output grows from $808.3 billion in 2019 to $862.7 billion in 2024 – a CAGR of 1.3%.

Vetaphone will exhibit four machines at Labelexpo Europe 2019

Vetaphone, the Danish pioneer of Corona surface treatment, will be exhibiting four machines at Labelexpo in Brussels. For those looking for narrow web surface treatment, the company will be showing two Corona stations. The VE1A-A (C4) features four ceramic electrodes and is designed for single-sided treatment, while the newly launched VE1A-M (C8) is designed for complex substrates and applications where high Corona power is required from a single unit. Fitted with eight ceramic electrodes, the new C8, which is capable of operating at running speeds in excess of 300m/min. Both models are both CE and UL approved and like all Vetaphone Corona units, they are developed for non-stop production and easy maintenance.

Arburg wins People’s Choice Award in Rapid + TCT

From 21 to 23 May 2019, more than 400 exhibitors and around 7,000 trade visitors attended the Rapid + TCT, the leading trade fair for additive manufacturing in the USA. On the last day, Arburg was honoured with the People’s Choice Award. The German machine manufacturer from Lossburg presented itself in Detroit with a stand covering 150 square metres. Koehler will show their packaging news in FachPack

Almost 740,000 tonnes of PVC recycled in 2018

VinylPlus®, the Voluntary Commitment to sustainable development of the European PVC industry, recycled 739,525 tonnes of PVC within its framework in 2018 – a 15.6% increase on the previous year. The results were presented at the 2019 edition of the VinylPlus Sustainability Forum in Prague, Czech Republic, where the industry shared further progress towards increasing the sustainability performance of PVC.
