Avery Dennison appoints Sam O’Keefe vice president of R&D EMEA

Avery Dennison Corporation (NYSE:AVY) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sam O’Keefe as vice president of research and development (R&D) for its Label and Graphic Materials group in Europe (LGM-EU), effective immediately. She will be based at Oegstgeest, reporting to Pascale Wautelet, vice president of global R&D. She will become part of the European leadership team of LGM and have a dotted reporting line to Jeroen Diderich, vice president and general manager of LGM-EU.

Arburg setting the course for the digital future of plastics processing in Chinaplas

Arburg will be presenting the digital future of plastics processing at Chinaplas in Guangzhou, China, from 21 to 24 May 2019. At stand A41 in hall 5.1, several topics relevant to the subject of digitalization will be presented: the new customer portal, the potential of augmented reality (AR) for service purposes, as well as digital assistance systems. The application highlight will be a complex turnkey system that produces ready-to-use LSR/LSR wristwatches within the injection moulding cycle. Other exhibits are an electric Allrounder from the Golden Electric series for a medical application and a Freeformer 200-3X for industrial additive manufacturing. The three exhibited machines are networked via the Arburg ALS host computer system.

After completing a rigorous testing process, Ricoh’s own developed toners have been awarded a Smithers Pira Certificate of Conformity assuring EU food packaging legislation compliance. It applies to the Ricoh Pro™ C9200, Ricoh Pro™ C9100, Ricoh Pro™ C7200 and Ricoh Pro™ C7100 sheet fed digital colour Series (both four and five colour models).

EconCore to showcase new high-performance honeycomb technology at JEC World 2019 in Paris

The Coesia Group is a globally active player consisting of 21 innovation-based industrial and packaging solution companies headquartered in Bologna. In September 2018, Coesia completed the acquisition of Atlantic Zeiser’s card personalization and packaging divisions as well as the majority stake of Tritron GmbH, manufacturer of innovative special inks for digital industrial printing, as announced in the first half of 2018. Joining the group as an independent unit, Atlantic Zeiser maintains its headquarters in Emmingen-Liptingen. Thomas Obitz, previously Commercial Director at Atlantic Zeiser, will head the new company. UV is breaking new ground in the production of tinplate

Meech to present its industry 4.0 solution, smart control at ICE Europe 2019

GAMA Group expands the portfolio of its viscometers

Two new viscometers have become part of the GAMA products portfolio for quality control of inks and adhesives. They are: G31- a system for pH control, temperature and viscosity of water-based inks for corrugate market - and G32 for control and correction of water-based adhesives, varnishes and lacquers. The main feature - present in these products as well as in all GAMA systems - is the ability of automatically guaranteeing the correct quality of the ink during rotogravure or flexographic printing, in order to obtain the highest quality of the printed material at any printing speed.
