The annual Fruit Attraction event, being held this year at IFEMA MADRID between 4-6 October, is one of Europe’s largest platforms for fruit and vegetable operators and produce packaging providers. Graphic Packaging will be exhibiting on stand 4B11C with their wide portfolio of packaging innovations, enabling visitors to experience their sustainable, high-performance solutions first-hand.

Looking ahead to the event, Ellie Patterson, Head of Sales Convenience EMEA at Graphic Packaging, said, “Face-to-face exhibitions are now back in full swing, and Graphic Packaging representatives are thrilled to be attending Fruit Attraction this year. We’ll be introducing visitors to our wide range of carton and flexible solutions for fresh produce, including our latest innovation, the ProducePack™ Punnet.”

“Suitable for a host of produce applications, the punnet tray replaces traditional plastic trays and eliminates the need for flow wrap as it can be top sealed, reducing plastic use significantly. It offers the ideal blend of sustainability and performance.” Graphic Packaging will also be showcasing their wide range of produce packaging solutions plus the award-winning PaperSeal® range for modified atmosphere applications.

“Our solutions are developed in close partnership with our customers. Our bespoke approach is designed to maximise operational efficiency, pack sustainability, on-shelf impact and shelf-life, and our integrated machinery solutions really help with this challenge,” added Patterson.

“We would love for any growers, packers, brands and retailers looking to reduce their reliance on plastic to visit us on the stand.” Attendance at this year’s Fruit Attraction is expected to benefit from the easing of travel restrictions, which some countries were still enforcing in 2021. Delegates from across the world will descend on Madrid to network and discuss new innovations in produce packaging and more.

This year, Fruit Attraction will encourage delegates to participate in the event as sustainably as possible by publishing a set of guidelines to help limit the environmental impact of the event. Patterson welcomed this, stating, “Fruit Attraction is particularly important for us as its organisers are committed to sustainability, and so are we. Sustainability is about more than just the materials we use, it’s about what we do as a business.”
